GALLHAMMER Concert DVD On The Way
March 2, 2008March 3 sees the anticipated vinyl release of "Ill Innocence", the latest album by Japan's queens of blackened punk, GALLHAMMER. The LP will come as a double-vinyl gatefold release to a strictly limited edition. Order now from www.peaceville.com, or alternatively the LPs will be available from the band IF you are planning to come to their gigs in the UK and Norway.
Although GALLHAMMER had been known primarily as a black metal/punk act, the album is impressively diverse, showing their implementation of many influences and moods from both metal and non-metal genres. The themes are based around isolation, oppression, a world without colour, with Vivian describing the imagery like "Delirium - as being in a midday nightmare under the scorching sunshine"; all wrapped in a poetic disparity. "Ill Innocence" also features recordings of the tracks "Speed of Blood" and "At the Onset of the Age of Despair" as previewed in demo form on "The Dawn of…" The CD release of the album was met with great critical acclaim, particularly in the UK, with the band even given the honour of coverstars in Zero Tolerance, Terrorizer and Organ magazines.
GALLHAMMER will embark on a tour of the UK in March to coincide with the LP release, ending with a trip to Norway to appear at the prestigious Inferno festival, where the band headlines the Garage stage.
